Alphabet French

Teacher: M. Dufort
Course: French 1

Assignment: Project #1: Poster Alphabetique

du: vendredi, le 14 decembre, 2007

This project will contain information based on a French-speaking country that you research. It is called the alphabet project (projet alphabétique) because you make a letter (at least 2 feet tall – I suggest poster board). Make the first letter of your chosen country.

For example, if you choose Algeria (l’Algérie) then you would make a large “A”. However, this is not the end of the project.

Once you have chosen your country, you will then find pictures/images and facts about your country (all specified in the Alphabet Poster Rubric provided). The pictures/images (at least 10 different ones) should be attached to the front of your “letter-poster”.

The facts (also 10) should be attached to the back (again, as specified in the rubric). The pictures/images and facts should be neatly attached (with a glue-stick, preferably) and should not be loose or flapping.

You may use Internet images, but they should be sharp/clear and not blurry. You must also include, on the back of the poster, where you found your images and facts (as specified in D-(3) of the rubric). You should have at least two sources

Only two class time periods allowed: November 27 and 28, 2007.

Resources:

1. CIA Factbook

2. InfoPlease Countries

3.   (from School)

4. Culturgrams (in print)

5. Google Image Search for images of famous places.

Note: Travel sites are great for pictures, but skimpy on content.   Don't rely on them for facts and information.

Grading for this project is two-fold: [200 divided by 2 = 100%]

1.  The rubric (Parts A to E) = 100 points
