Activity: Fallen Angels is set in Vietnam, a country that borders the South China Sea. Vietnam won its independence from France in 1945, but remained French-occupied until 1954, when Ho Chi Minh’s communist forces defeated the French in the North. The Vietnam War was, in essence, a failed attempt by South Vietnam to become an autonomous country; in 1975, the two regions were rejoined under communist rule.
Using the library, the Internet, or a combination of both, research the geographical, cultural, and economical aspects of Vietnam. Use the research to complete the Setting Chart.
